Description:
Job Summary:

Contributes in-depth analysis and data with consultation to develop a product strategy and helps support the ideation process. Gathers and analyzes data to develop insights in collaboration with more senior product managers to understand market conditions, trends, and develop success criteria, while ensuring product dashboards are maintained as identified by the leadership team. Conducts regional feasibility with functional partners for a focused set of products or LOBs and develops data, analysis, and presentations to support the development of product recommendations in collaboration with more senior product managers. Updates specific pieces of collateral, participates in service recovery and managing issue resolution under supervision, and gathers content for sales and account management questions. Gathers and analyzes information for business-case development. Maintains and updates benefits/plans to meet regulatory and internal/external benefit administration needs. Aides in the creation of agendas, materials, and notes during product/benefit requirement meetings that incorporate line of business, regional, organizational, product strategy, customer needs, consumer needs, regulations/standards and operational requirements. Manages a simple implementation or workstream with substantial guidance by leveraging expertise to ensure project and product lifecycle are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Creates and/or modifies a product component and/or product enhancement component independently, ensuring benefits and policies meet all regulatory requirements, and determining who needs to be trained and manages attendee lists. Leverages a basic understanding of product lifecycle management and the product development process.

Supports, identifies, and monitors priorities, deadlines, and expectations. Identifies, speaks up, and implements ways to address improvement opportunities for team.

  • Supports business-case development by: gathering and analyzing information.

  • Facilitates product portfolio feasibility and development by: conducting regional feasibility with functional partners for a focused set of products or lines of business (LOBs); and developing data, analysis, and presentations to support the development of product recommendations in collaboration with more senior product managers.

  • Facilitates product portfolio performance and competitive analysis by: gathering and analyzing data (e.g., financials, claims, membership, appeals) to develop insights in collaboration with more senior product managers to understand market conditions, trends, and develop success criteria; and ensuring product dashboards are maintained as identified by the leadership team.

  • Supports product requirement development by: maintaining and updating benefits/plans to meet regulatory and internal/external benefit administration needs; and aiding in the creation of agendas, materials, and notes during product/benefit requirement meetings that incorporate LOB, regional, organizational, product strategy, customer needs, consumer needs, regulations/standards, and operational requirements.

  • Applies product knowledge by: leveraging a basic understanding of product lifecycle management and the product development process.

  • Facilitating product training and change management by: creating and/or modifying a product component and/or product enhancement component independently, ensuring benefits and policies meet all regulatory requirements (e.g., state and federal), and determining who needs to be trained and managing attendee lists.

  • Facilitates team management by: managing a matrixed team for a given market, product(s), portfolio, or business segment.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university AND minimum two (2) years of experience in health care, product development and management, strategy development and execution, finance, sales and account management, marketing, consulting, benefits, program management, or a directly related field OR minimum five (5) years of experience in health care, product development and management, strategy development and execution, finance, sales and account management, marketing, consulting, benefits, program management, or a directly related field.

Additional Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three (3) years of experience in health care insurance, health plan administration, benefit administration, benefit policy, or a directly related field.
  • Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Health Care Administration, or related field.
